The origin of coffee is in central Ethiopia where Ethiopian Arabs collected the fruit from the trees, which are grown in the wild in 1000 AD. Merchants in the fifteenth century transferred coffee trees to Southern Arabia from Africa. The first growers of coffee are the Eastern Arabs and they soon implemented the practice of the Ethiopian Arabs in creating hot brew from the roasted ground beans.

During the middle of 1800s, America dared to produce instant coffee. This was the time when Civil War troops were provided the earliest instant coffees that were in cake form. The effort to produce a pleasant instant brew was strong and continued, although the varieties of instant coffee in those early times did not taste that good compared to regular coffee.
