Coffee is one of the pleasures we have. A day will never be complete without a dose of that dark brown, aromatic and flavorful liquid. It is a part of life and can be quite addicting.

Coffee is made of grinding coffee beans. Caffeine is a mild stimulant that is natural in coffee, which produces different side effects. Caffeine helps a person to concentrate more because it fuels the cortex of the brain. It also develops coordination and assists skeletal muscle to be less vulnerable to fatigue, so sometimes before the competition, athletes are advised to drink coffee. Although caffeine should be taken only in small amounts because if it is taken in excessive quantity, caffeine may act as diuretic and may lead to upset stomach, headache die to the contraction of the blood vessels in the brain. Caffeine may also cause palpitation, irregular heartbeat and over sensitive consciousness. Many researches have shown that too much caffeine intake may be linked to heart disease, pancreatic cancer, breast cyst and birth defects. Although these studies are yet to be proved, doctors recommend limiting coffee intake to less than four cups everyday and having an option to drink decaffeinated kinds.

The origin of coffee is in central Ethiopia where Ethiopian Arabs collected the fruit from the trees, which are grown in the wild in 1000 AD. Merchants in the fifteenth century transferred coffee trees to Southern Arabia from Africa. The first growers of coffee are the Eastern Arabs and they soon implemented the practice of the Ethiopian Arabs in creating hot brew from the roasted ground beans.

During the middle of 1800s, America dared to produce instant coffee. This was the time when Civil War troops were provided the earliest instant coffees that were in cake form. The effort to produce a pleasant instant brew was strong and continued, although the varieties of instant coffee in those early times did not taste that good compared to regular coffee. The first successful coffee producer began manufacturing and marketing instant coffee in 1950.

Eighty-five percent of Americans start their day with a cup of hot coffee, together with the large percentage all over the globe.
